It is hard for me to tell you the excitement I had when Pastor Slye used this quote in his Friday evening message. For those of you who missed it, here it is:
"Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin, and desire nothing but God, and I care not a straw whether they be clergymen or laymen; such alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the kingdom of heaven on earth."
Here is a good supporting scripture: Psalm 97:10 "Ye that love the Lord, hate evil..."
What do these say to me? God can and will use those who truly love Him, no matter how few or how many. Christians, those who will be faithful to Him daily, are given the grace to make a difference for God, not by their works or deeds, but by their will to believe and trust. Christians believe they CAN make a difference for God, even if no one will follow them. Do you believe your faith (love of God) matters for the kindgom's sake? It does!
Do not let the "realities of life" discourage you from the reality of God and what He seeks to accomplish in you and all men! Oh yes, His grace IS sufficient for YOU!

ReplyDeleteJohn 15:14-15: "Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you."
What a privilege to do Our Father's commands and the wonderful pleasure of being called a friend.
